I always thought when I was in my late teens, early twenties what made great outdoor memories were the ones when you harvested a trophy animal. I learned a few years ago after becoming part of the traditional community that was not the case. Shows like this one in Kalamazoo highlights this. The moment you walk in you are greeted with a hug and treated like you are family, by someone you may only see a few times a year. These traditional shows are less about what product is out but more about getting to know people with a common interest.
Now after participating in this community, I am beginning to learn that it is not about the experience its self, it is more about who you have those experiences with. After I had a week or so I began to decompress from everything that went on at the show, from the support I have seen of other bowyers to people excited to see the growth of this website. It truly is amazing to see the overflowing support within the community for those trying to grow within it.
One of the biggest supporters of that is Traditional Outdoors. They are taking people that may not be as technologically savvy and they are giving them a platform to talk about their passion or rich history. This is a huge benefit to introducing people to the community that may not be as aware that it exists.
